Trapstar Sizing: How To Pick The Right Size

Getting Trapstar sizing right is simpler than most people expect, but there are a few things worth knowing before you order. The brand runs a UK XS to XXL range, and the majority of pieces fit true to size. There is one key exception, though, and missing it is the most common mistake buyers make. This guide covers how to measure yourself properly, what each category of garment does, and exactly what to do when you fall between two sizes.

How To Measure Before You Order

Forget guesswork. A tape measure takes two minutes and removes any doubt.

Chest: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it level across your shoulder blades at the back. Hold it snug against your body but do not pull it tight.

Waist: Find the narrowest part of your torso, usually a couple of inches above your belly button. Measure there with a relaxed breath.

Hips: Measure around the widest point of your hips and seat, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

Write those three numbers down. When you compare them to a size guide, always size for your broadest measurement. If your chest lands in a large but your waist in a medium, go with the large. Trapstar pieces have enough room in the body that the extra space at the waist will not be an issue.

Trapstar Sizing: What The Range Covers

Trapstar runs a consistent UK sizing scale from XS through to XXL. For most items in the range, including T-shirts, fleece hoodies, track trousers, and puffer jackets, your standard UK size is the right choice. If you wear a medium in other premium streetwear brands, a medium here will fit well.

The silhouette across most garments is relaxed but not shapeless. There is room to move and layer, but these are not the kind of oversized fits that swamp a smaller frame. Chest and shoulder measurements are the most reliable starting point. The waist and hips tend to have more room built in as standard.

Sizing is consistent across the main collection lines, including the Irongate Arch Chenille, Decoded Chenille 2.0, and Shooters ranges.

Shell Suits: The One Exception You Need To Know

This is where Trapstar sizing behaves differently from the rest of the range. The shell suit line, which is a co-ordinated two-piece in a lightweight woven fabric, is cut noticeably closer to the body than the standard fleece tracksuit. If you order your usual size, it will feel tight, particularly across the chest and shoulders.

The correct approach is simple: go one size up on shell suits. A regular large should order an XL. A regular medium should order a large.

The Tuta Trapstar shell suit is the specific product where this applies. The standard cotton-fleece tracksuit set does not follow the same rule. For fleece tracksuits, your regular UK size is exactly right. The difference comes down to the fabric: woven shell fabric has no stretch, while a cotton-fleece blend gives a little more room.

Hoodies and the Oversized Cut

Trapstar hoodies are built with a deliberately oversized silhouette. The shoulders drop slightly past the natural shoulder seam, the sleeves run a little long, and the body has a generous cut through the chest and torso. This is a design decision, not a sizing inconsistency.

In practice, that means two things. First, if you prefer a more fitted or slim look, sizing down one is a reasonable choice. Second, if you want the full streetwear aesthetic the brand is known for, your regular UK size gives you exactly that fit. Neither approach is wrong; it depends on how you wear your clothes.

Zip hoodies follow the same pattern as pullovers. The cut is consistent across the hoodie styles in the range.

What To Do When You Land Between Sizes

Most people land cleanly in a single size, but if your measurements point in different directions, here is how to think it through.

Size for your broadest measurement first. Streetwear is not designed to fit close to the body, so extra room at the waist or hips rarely reads as too large once you are wearing the piece.

Think about how you plan to wear it. If the hoodie is going under a jacket or puffer, go up one. If it will be worn straight over a T-shirt in warmer weather, your standard size is fine.

For shell suits, when in doubt, always land on the larger option. The fabric has no give, so a size that feels borderline in the chest will not get more comfortable with wear.

For everything else, going with your regular UK size is almost always the right call.

The Short Version

Trapstar sizing is consistent and predictable across most of the range. Measure your chest, match it to your standard UK size, and you will be right the vast majority of the time. The one rule to remember: shell suits always go one size up. Sort that out before you order, and the rest takes care of itself.
